TRUCE DECLARED

Prominent metatheoreticians Hardwick Herpes and Wentworth Sutton have agreed to suspend their dispute over the definition of metamusic until they have had a chance to consider the implications of the Anachronisms' forthcoming release "Ride My Love Cycle." Inspired by yesterday's post by rupert, they look to the new release to provide a clearer view of the elusive metamusic phenomenon. "We have had thesis and antithesis," said Dr. Herpes, "and now we ill have metasynthesis." Dr. Sutton replied "Whatever,"

Sid "Screamin' Fat Boy" Taxation is said to be recovering from pulled muscles in his side resulting from the recording of this number. It is not known whether this injury is due to the exertion of singing the song or to initial reactions from his bandmates.

Metamusic lightning caught in a bottle

Word has it that debates about definitions of metamusic are about to be rendered moot by a new recording by Leo and the Fish. Rumours abound about a recent epoch-making recording at the supersecret Ayr location of Panda Studios. The track that will set the world of metamusic on its collective ear is reputedly titled Ride my Love Cycle. Listeners will respond with WTHWT and WITNOTHG (what in the name of the holy ghost) and long screams and with whatever other culturally-appropriate expostulations of epiphany that may escape the lips of the amazed. Technically, this is what philosophers call "ostensive definition" - i.e. by pointing. Granny asks "what is this metamusic you rabbit on about?" (grannies know how to talk in italics) and you play her Ride my Love Cycle. QED.
